This place is horrible. Anyone who has lick of common sense can read these reviews and realize that the only good recommendations are written by the owners or workers. The sauce on the sea food pasta is like water, the halibut fish and chips are frozen and taste like left overs. There were 6 of us and eating a variety of menu items and nobody was pleased. The clam chowder is like paste and tastes old or reheated. All of this and the prices are sky high. As you can tell I don't have anything good to say about this place. We all felt ripped off after eating here.

Do not bother. Waited 1/2 hour and no water and barely a greeting from the waitress. Ended up leaving before we ate.

The ambiance is very modern and a little bit of country mix in one. The beach is right across the road, so if you to be in the center of town, this is it. The food is very good, but it can be a long wait, so order quickly and have a friend with you to kill the time as you wait for your food. I believe to do it right, it takes time. It must be true because everything they served have been a taste of heaven. You wouldn't expect it from a small town like Rockaway, but here it is. The staff are always friendly and they serve you with a great smile. I stop by when I visit Rockaway Beach. What's not to like.

I think the best that I can say about this place is that it is average, which seems to indicate a 3 star review, but my personal feeling is that "meh" describes it better than "a-ok." Starting from a position of 5 stars, 1 star off for the fact that the menu says some meals come with steak fries and the waitress told us it is actually chips now and you have to pay a $1 more for steak fries. Ok, then fix the menu - if it says it comes with steak fries, then it should come with steak fries! Another star off for the fact that the food was bland - every single thing I tried desperately needed seasoning. The homemade fresh potato chips were just sliced potatoes fried, but tasted good with a little salt. The fries seemed to be the same - thicker slices of potato fried. I sat eyeing them and wishing for some Red Robin seasoning blend to spice them up a bit. Adding salt helped some, so I suppose for someone who is avoiding salt, the lack of pre-seasoning would work out well. I would say that perhaps it was just the potato products; however, my fish sandwich had the blandest tasting fish I've ever eaten. I get that it was a white flake fish, which has a mild flavor anyway, but I seriously considered at one point if I was possibly eating chicken rather than fish. I suspect it was a frozen patty at some point, which is highly disappointing at the coast where fresh fish is in abundance. On the upside, the fish did not have any fishy flavor, so that was at least a plus. My stepson liked the clam chowder. The hubby and I again thought it was bland. There was no explosion of taste that I expect from a coastal clam chowder. Another star off for having mediocre seafood at the coast. We were seated right away, service was a tad slow, but the people were friendly. Bottom line - some seasoning would go a long, long way in this place and they need to have the menu accurately reflect what they're offering. It really annoys me to be told I'll have to pay more for something the menu says is included with my meal. Not cool.

warning!!!!!!! racist place ever!!!!!! if you are other than white people than they will not serve you!!!! we got there the host looked at us like we're aliens and then we sat down for a good 15mins and no service. new people came in just sat down and already got service. this is fucken bullshit, restaurant like this does not deserve any business and should be close down for their rudeness and racism. if you are not white do not go to beach bite because its a guarantee they will not serve you!!!!!!! they do not deserved my business!!!!!!!!

By far, this is the best 'bite' in town. My wife ate the fish & chips and made a point of telling me that it was wonderful. Not too greasy & not too much batter. We were not thrilled that there wasn't an option of chips or fries. It chips, unless u wanna pay extra for fries. I ate the mushroom burger. Very tasty. We returned for dinner. Wifey had a bowl of steamer clams. U may have to ask for these, as they are not on the main menu. By far, the best thing I had was the jalapeño shrimp and chicken. Mmmm... Prices are a little steeper than avg, but i'd be willing to pay it again. The customer service & hospitality are GREAT!

I was disappointed. I found this place on Yelp, and it had 4 out of 5 stars (by 4 ratings), so we decided to try it. When we got there, it was packed, so that was a good sign. We put our name on the waiting list, and it took about 15 minutes to get a seat (no worries), but the hostess seated a couple before us who arrived after us, at a spot that was suitable for our needs. Once we were finally seated, the server was prompt. We got our drinks, water, and our order taken fairly quickly. My hopes for a great meal, and experience, were on the rise. I ordered clam chowder (how could I not), and seafood pasta. The menu said that it was a mixture of clams, shrimp, and scallops, in a cream sauce. I was looking forward to this. When the salads arrived, the lettuce was wilted, there were a few croutons, two cherry tomatoes, and one red onion ring. The blue cheese dressing was watery, and had very little blue cheese flavor. The soups arrived, and mine had a layer of oil/grease floating on the top. The soup was luke warm, and had very little flavor. Strike two. When dinner arrived, strike three. My seafood pasta was three clams, a good amount of sea scallops (cooked correctly), and shrimp meat (not nice full whole shrimp). The pasta was cooked correctly, but it was swimming in a watery, milky liquid that tasted like warmed coffee creamer. The plate was dangerously hot (as if it had been sitting under the salamander to reheat the food). They forgot to bring any bread, and when it arrived, it was average and not warm. Frankly I was very disappointed. I was really looking forward to a good seafood meal, and this just did not live up to my expectations. Maybe this was just an off night. But boy it was WAY off.

We loved this place for lunch. The tsunami salad is ENORMOUS and full of a variety of vegetables. We also had the mahi mahi fish and chips special, which was very fresh and fried perfectly. The hot homemade potato chips were a great surprise. Yum!

  • Anthony M.

Had a decent meal at a decent price. The fish and chips special was good but the chowder and salad were very average. The one stand out of the meal was the carrot cake for dessert and I would highly recommend it. Service was good and attentive.

We have been here before, August of 2012 to be more specific. It was good then but we stopped there just before closing last night and had the best service and wonderful dinner that would rival many of the better restaurants in the metro area. My halibut gorgonzola was scrumptious and my husbands New York steak was truely amazing, we raise our own beef and are picky. So all i can say about the other reviews of poor food is that we haven't experienced it here. We will continue to go here. Just great food and service!

BEACH BREW PIZZA (part of the Beach Bite) We've been coming to Rockway Beach for 7 years now and were excited to see a NEW pizza place in town- we tried them out and were very pleased! The pricing is what you'd expect from a small town- we got the Large all meat for about $23 for take-out and much prefer this pizza place over the other place in town. GREAT pizza!

We were spending a couple nights in Rockaway Beach on a family vacation. While we were waiting for the other half of our party to show up we (we is my hubby, 2 year old and I ) decided to grab something to eat at The Beach Bite. They were super slow. The "world famous" chips really probably aren't world famous. They were lacking any seasoning at all. My husband and I both had the halibut fish & chips which was not very good at all. For an Oceanfront town and that price ( around $15 a person) we expected a lot more. The staff seemed friendly, but once our order was in & food was out we were ignored until it was time to pay. They seemed to have quite a few families there - maybe it was just an off night?

We read all the reviews on Yelp and were hesitant to try Beach Bite however it was nearly across the streat from our hotel, it was late at night and we were starving so we braced ourselves and went in. The restaurant is very welcoming. The interior appears to be fresh and brand new. The seating is booth style along the walls and there is space in the center were a single long table can be setup for groups. There was a group of about 20 in there while we were there. Also, they do have some large flat screen TV's (mainly in the bar area) that were tuned to sports. I loved the food! We each had a salad followed by either a hamburger (mine) or for everyone else fish and chips (the very excellent home made potato chips). Then the dessert tray came. WOW! However we were already stuff so we passed on dessert. Next time Beach Bite!! Our waitress was kind, friendly and very helpful. I had both great food and a great time.

T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E! All meals were mediocre at best. WARNING: Fish and Chips = Fish and potato chips, not french fries. Size of fish and chips = tiny. If you want good fish and chips go into garibaldi and walk towards the pier... really good fish and chips place there. Never go here.

My hubby and I went here after driving around looking for the Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant which is CLOSED. We got there about 530 on Saturday night which was happy hour we sat on the bar side and there were 2 other tables and a few people at the bar. We started with a pitcher of Longboard and the grilled shrimp appetizer. The beer was in a really cold pitcher and the beer glasses were coated in ice nothing beats a cold beer. T he shrimp were very good, I'm always nervous about ordering shrimp because I'm picky about how they are cooked and how fresh they are.. These were very good wishing I would have just had another order for dinner. I ordered Steak Gorgonzola Medium Rare with a baked potato. My steak was almost Well Done making it Dry and Tasteless the only thing that saved it was the mushrooms and gorgonzola. The potato did have real butter though and the vegetables were good. Hubby had the Chicken Fettuccine and it was pretty tasty he started with the minestrone soup which was really good, my salad with blue cheese was ok the blue cheese dressing was pretty thin. We didn't get the bread that was supposed to come with dinner but we didn't really need it. The service was slow, I think it was the owner that greeted and seated us, he set us up with beer and took the order for shrimp appetizer, then the bartender took our order and served us, then owner came back and checked on us and took it from there. He was all about sales and we ended up getting a piece of carrot cake which was to die for.... I almost didn't get any because my hubby was wolfing it down and usually he has 2 bites of dessert and is done. I'd go back and maybe try a pizza I would not recommend steaks unless you like yours well done. The owner did tell us that the pasta was their specialty and it was my bad for not taking his word. I wish there was a way to give 1/2 star ratings....this wasn't BAD but the over cooked steak made it not really A OK.

I wasn't super excited about this place when I read the reviews but I have to say I'm a fan. We were there on Easter this year and didn't have a ton of choices to eat at while we were on our vacation staying in Giribaldi. The service wasn't fast concidering there was only 1 guy acting as the hostess, the waiter and the bartender. I'll have to say he was super friendly and did a great job. We weren't in a hurry so didn't mind. The food was wonderful. I had the gorgonzola steak that I'm still thinking about. It was amazing. The husband and our son were also very impressed with their steak choices. All in all it was the perfect Easter dinner for the 3 of us on our travels.

Delicious meal! We had the gorgonzola steak, fish & chips, seafood pasta and the big burger with an egg! Steak was great, the topping tasty. Fish & Potato chips were crispy, not greasy and low salt - hallaluja! pasta nicely spiced and enough to take home. Burger was awesome! Desserts included cheesecake, carrot cake and marionberry cobbler. I liked the lemony bite in the cobbler. The others 'choked' down their desserts...A very nice place and the service was great.

on one spontaneous wednesday trip to the beach, we happened upon the Beach Bite. twas the earliest open bar we could find on the sea front. ambiance was cozy with a great set-up between bar and dinning room. the menu is predictably pricey like most coastal touristy stops, but surprisingly plump with options. service was attentive and very friendly, which helped pacify damn pricey shots of mid shelf bourbon. after a glorious walk down the beach, we asked a local shop keep where the best chowder was in town. she snarked to try a canned brand! after laughter subsided, she told us to try either Whale Spout or Beach Bite. Whale Spout was still closed at 4:30, so back to the Beach Bite it was. we decided to try the $13 Mahi-Mahi fish and "american" chips special with a bowl of chowder and side salad. we really wanted some oyster shooters (as listed ont he menu), but was abruptly told that shooters were not prepared or ready, since it wasnt the weekend. or, as i heard, "you midweek patrons are not cool enough for weekend privileges" the chowder was par for the course. warmed our bazoos, but nothing jumped out to amaze us. (maybe we should have tried the canned option!?) then the Mahi Mahi came out. two decent cuts of fish over unseasoned house made potato crisps (american chips) the fish cuts were dredged in a typical beer batter and overly fried. result: dry fish with all flavor reduced to oils and salts. my one beef with american style fish n chips!: the fishes flavor is all too often drowned out in too much time in the oil! i want to taste the fish above the grease - simple as that. the slaw was days old and bland. after much smothering of salt, pepper, lemon and vinegar - we left quite a few bites on the plate - hoping the cook would see how under-impressed we were.. service and ambiance was great! but food was meh. luckily, we brought our cribbage board and had a damn good time on our own terms

Yeah, this place is no good. I wish we had followed the other couples' lead who walked out after taking a look at their menu. The food is grossly overpriced for what it is, our waitress looked at us like we were nuts when we ordered a beverage listed on the menu. She messed up my order and charged me for it, better yet charged me for additions to my food that I didn't ask for. She was not very friendly, when thanked she would ignore it almost as if we had pissed her off by patronizing the place. I would love my money back! Note to self: bring food to the beach next time.

Other reviewers seem to have been very disappointed with the fish & chips. I can't dispute them at all because nobody in my party tried them. We had luscious salads with dungeness crab; fabulous halibut with gorgonzola sauce; and italian sodas that were delicious and generously portioned. We loved the place!

Good drinks, good pizza, and the best environment in town for lunch and dinner. Attentive service.

I echo the other reviewers comments! The service was warm and friendly and the server gave us back every little bit of sass we dealt her - we had a great time interacting! We ate a special with shrimp, scallops and langostinos grilled on skewers and it was very good. Excellent diverse beer/wine selection. We will be back!

Had the chicken pesto ravioli -it was very tasty. Loved the unique cheeses on it. Best ravioli I've had in years! Restaurant is a bit on the spendy side but worth it as a treat.

I met my cousin here for lunch with our boyfriends since we both happened to be in town and we thought it looked like a good place.... I ordered a side salad and never got it, my fettucine was soupy and had no flavor. It was like they poured milk on some noodles and added some cheese. Not to mention the terrible stomach ache! Don't stop here eventhough it looks nice. Not worth it later.

  • Karlee N.

My boyfriend and I were on our way home from Lincoln City and decided to stop here for lunch. We were the only two people in there so I assumed that the service would be prompt and we would be able to get in and out, but still enjoy a nice meal. We were waited on fairly quickly, but after placing our order (a cheeseburger and turkey club) it took thirty minutes to finally get our meal (old avacado doesn't taste great). The food wasn't terrible, but the service sucked. It doesn't take a lot to wear a fake smile and pretend you love your job, nor does it take a half hour to cook a cheeseburger or sandwich.

Decided on the Beach Bite for dinner on our second night in Rockaway Beach. Got seated quickly. Server was nice and upfront about slowness due to the Oregon vs. LSU game at the lounge. Wait wasn't that long for food but food was not anything spectacular but it wasn't awful either. Go ahead and give it a try if you are here for a vacation and can't decide where else to go. Glenn

Very tasteless food. The decor was interesting, especially considering the exterior but the food and service was terrible.

  • Kristine K.

I give this place 1 star not only because it was incredibly slow service but the food was not worth the wait or price. My cousin and I ordered the 14.00 fettuccine which was served more like a runny soup base than a cream base. We asked for more cheese so we could at least try and thickin it up. Not only was it runny but also very bland. I asked for a side of garlic toast for a dollar more and they gave me 4 bottoms of hot dog buns with no butter on two of them. I mean does bread really cost that much? Her boyfriend ordered the burger which had a slice of tomato thicker than his burger which made his bun nothing but soggy. My boyfriend had the fish and chips that on the menu said made fresh but when they came out they were in that perfect diamond shape like the frozen ones from the store. Needles to say everything was very bland. Two positives were our rum and coke was great and the fries were really good.

Scatterbrained! Any place with a menu this big can't be great- it's all mediocre at best! I would rather see a smaller menu and have every bite delicious. I have eaten too many sub par meals here. Based upon my last visit- I agree with the alfredo sauce review- soupy, bland, and over sauced. Bay Shrimp are not meant to populate any hot dish- they turned too rubbery bits of pungent krill. The chowder carried the slight scent of amonia, and a gobb of melted butter floated on top- blech! Greasy fish & chips again! Change the fryer, and stop pawning off pre battered frozen Halibut as something that deserves the lofty price attached guys! I have eaten better hand breaded Cod at bars- and payed less. The service has always been on & off, and as the menu- scatterbrained. I have eaten some decent burgers here- maybe that's what the Beach Bite should stick to- they obviously know very little about anything else- except maybe how to overcook a piece of fish- salmon or halibut; both dry on previous visits. That said, this place bites- the big one!

We had dinner last weekend and it was dismal. My guacamole with the chicken quesadilla looked like it sat out for 2 days. The appetizer was a shrimp and chicken quesadilla. Shrimp and chicken? What's up with that? I asked for no shrimp and got charged full boat (pun not intended). Usually they take a little $ off but not here. This restaurant acts like they are the only game in town and for all intents and purposes, they are. Cold PB and J before I would return. This is one to avoid folks.

Cliff's Notes: Halibut Fish and Chips were $24. They seemed like they were frozen and I've had better from Burgerville. Poor, slow service. Full Story: We spent Father's Day at the Oregon Coast and wandered in here after the kids were turned off by the ambiance of the Old Oregon Smokehouse (wifey and I will be back though). It was just before 5 so we were one of two tables being served initially. The halibut fish and chips were $24 so my wife and I decided to share being that, for that kind of money, I am sure they would be good and plentiful (ha!). Son ordered cheese pizza and daughter ordered spaghetti. It seemed to take longer than anticipated given it was so slow at the time, but not horrible. Halibut Fish and Chips: Came with three small pieces that looked and tasted like they were pulled from a freezer and then overcooked in the fryer. Not what you expect for $24. Fries were okay, but not very hot and a little on the limp side. Cheese Pizza. Pretty decent. Lots of cheese. Spaghetti: Meh, nothing special about it. Once we were served, we were all but abandoned by the waitress. Another server came by at one point and filled waters. Nobody ever offered to refill my drink. Wife and kids got tired of waiting for the check so they went and window shopped down the street while I waited. When I asked for the check, I also asked if the halibut was fresh or frozen and she said, "Hmm, good question. I don't know. I am new so I'll have..." She finished with "to ask" as she hurried off with my card. Guess what? She never answered my question. I saw four wait staff with wildly varying dress. Our waitress was dressed professionally while another wore a t-shirt that was a few sizes too small. The other two were somewhat professional looking. The décor is nice and partnered with the high prices, you would think that the wait staff would dress similarly, if not the same. Let me say that I always start my tip at 20%. Do everything you are expected to and that's what you get. Go out of your way to provide a special experience and it goes up. Provide lackluster service and it goes down. Only one other time in my life have I put a big fat zero in the tip spot. Well, today was the second. I will never go back. I did provide feedback on the receipt as I felt an explanation would be fair.

Used to be eat here every month as I have a beach house in town. Now food I was given was poorer. I ordered a Hawaiian Wahoo fish burger with fries. The fish I couldn't tell WAS fish. I had the waitress check to see if the meat was chicken by mistake. No. I was told it was fish. I've had this same menu item 5 years ago and it was real fish! Fries were bad. I'll never come back. Prices are high.

Stopped by here for a to go order of a burger and fries with a side of ranch. Very disappointed to get an itty bitty burger and a small handful of broken fries with an even smaller side of ranch for almost $12. The "beach" burger was nothing special and the fries were soggy. The ranch was good though! I forgot to mention it took almost a half an hour to get it. If it's a hot day, don't eat in. Quite a few patrons and even a staff member complained about needing to step outside for some air. It would have been faster and cheaper to drive in to Tillamook to go to Burger King.

So the pizza and cod were really good, the burgers were really bad. My husband got a small patty but paid for 1/3 lb patty. The guacamole on the burgers was tiny and soaked into the bread so you could not see it. We waited 45 mins for our food. I did love the pizza though! The chicken and garlic was tasty and the crust thick.

Delicious! Wonderful service, clean, great food. We have been repeatedly disappointed with seafood at the beach. Finally a great place!

My family and I ate here while staying in Rockaway. We were looking for some good, fresh seafood. We ordered clam chowder, which was okay, but needed a little seasoning. We also got fish and chips which were kind of greasy, and didn't taste super fresh. Overall, the food was meh. The atmosphere of the place was dark and quiet, nice after a day of playing at the beach. The waitress was also really attentive and super super nice. The atmosphere and service were good and the food was edible.

Very very good food spoiled by downright rotten service and I mean horrible. We went last Saturday night which coincided with the pirate festival. And yes they were busy, I get it. However I knew we wouldn't have a good experience the moment we walked in. The lady at the front saw we had a party of 8 and she seemed almost inconvenienced by our presence from the outset. Then as we waited for our table another "local" came in and said "dealing with a lot of tourists eh?" To which she replied "yep, good for business I guess but I don't get anything extra". Ok a little unprofessional. We were then seated and we were totally ignored for about 20 minutes while we watched other tables being served. We had to ask this young waiter two times to be served. His first response was they were busy and "shifting around" at the moment but he would try to get us someone, whatever that meant. I guess this place is connected to a bar next store, and we saw a waitress going back and forth serving a table right next to us, but for some reason her and the lady up front didn't even look our way. After about 10 minutes of watching the woman up front fiddling around after watching the place emptying out, I got pissed and told her to serve us. We ordered drinks and after another 20 minutes the drinks arrived and they took our food order. This was 40 minutes after we were seated. We ordered a few of pizzas. The pizzas were very good and the beer selection was quite good (Pelican, Fort George and various others on tap). If this place had just average service I'd rate it 4 stars. If I owned the place I would straighten that out ASAP.

I don't know what all of the negative reviews are all about because every dish that came out was money! Service was spectacular as well and no I don't work here. Take a look at the pics and let me know if that doesn't do this place justice.

Was told pizza was good...wrong! Paid $25 for a large pizza and the toppings tasted like they were from the freezer. We are not that picky but it was really bad.

  • Austin Z.

I would give it a ZERO STAR if I could. Dishes and silverware were dirty and pizza crust was worse than a frozen pizza. Their chowder that they claim to be the best on the north coast had under cooked potatoes and lacked any clam flavor! Just plain disgusting.

  • Cassie F.

This place has HORRIBLE service and they completely over charge. If you are looking for a great restaurant it would be in your best interest to keep looking! They charged me and additional $5.00 to substitute a side salad for fries and it took them over 45 minutes to get us our food. When we finally got our food it was cold and disgusting! McDonald's burgers look more appetizing... I will never be back and I wouldn't suggest eating here.

Luckily, I didn't read the reviews before hand or I probably wouldn't have stopped by. We were there for a ladies weekend and stopped in here for lunch (about 2 p.m.). Were surprised how nice the interior was based on how it looked from the outside. The owner actually waited on us and our service was fabulous! We asked to look at the dinner menu and he also informed us Saturday was Prime Rib and they had big portions. IN! We reserved a table right then. The burgers (The Big Bite) that two of the ladies had said it was one of the best burgers they'd ever had. I had Chicken Fingers and originally thought they had mistakenly given me Fish & Chips; however, much to my surprise the chicken was large pieces and just lightly "breaded" ... not really breaded. Yummy! Did I mention they make their own potato chips? He then brought over the desert tray and when we asked which bakery in town prepared them he informed us that they make their own. When we went to Saturday dinner, 4 of us got the Prime Rib. Mine was cooked perfectly (medium rare). It was crowded so it was a good thing we reserved a table. Our server was so nice and attentive; it did take a bit to get our drinks but there was a game on (bar) and the place was packed. We all got our proper meals, drinks, condiments, etc. and they were brought right away. (And the server called us "Miss" rather "Ma'am"! Big plus!!! Please give these guys a try! We talked to a couple "locals" who live in Tillamook and they said they always drive here for their dinner. Locals usually have a clue.

Food and drink prices are out of sight! We found food quality and service were far below average. Had to wait 20 minutes for server to show up...should have figured it out and left right away!

Came for lunch on a Friday afternoon (after finding The Whale Spout down the street was mysteriously closed during lunch service). Pleasantly surprised by the large and varied menu. Food kudos for the clam chowder, albacore fish & chips special, chocolate cake and peanut butter pie. And special thanks to our server Nichole, who made our lunch very enjoyable.

The owner is very flexible and the ambience is not the standard low brow diner fare! Bar is fun to hang out with and while the burger was dry (overcooked) the rest was great!

Really enjoyed it. The kitchen was open until 9pm, good since we didn't decide to get dinner until 8:45 and everything else was closed except Rick's Roadhouse (also good but only fried pub grub). My Hawaiian Caesar salad was very good. Wife's seafood ravioli with side salad was excellent. We are only here for two nights and will definitely return.

This is probably one if the worst dining experiences I've had while dining on the Oregon Coast. We were one of six tables left in the restaurant and the supervisor or manager serves our table, sadly that didn't improve the service. Food - Coconut shrimp batter was overdone, tasted like they needed to change the oil in the deep fryer. They serve this with cocktail sauce which is kinda gross as a combination. - Clam chowder was bland doubt it was house made. Tasted like it was canned. - Seafood Pasta was incredibly overdone scallops and shrimp were rubbery. Pasta was tasty but for $26 you want to be able to eat the seafood. - Shrimp skewer meal was the only thing we ordered that was enjoyable. Comes with 16 prawns, rice and a lightly dressed cole slaw. I would happily order this again. - Bartender made a good cocktail. Service - Drinks weren't refilled. We would have ordered more cocktails if the manager serving our table had ever come back to check on us. - It was pretty clear we did not enjoy the meal we didn't eat any of the seafood in the seafood pasta. When asked how everything was my companion said "not great" the manager acted like we hasn't replied an walked away, no resolution offered. - our table wasn't checked out, dishes weren't cleared and we practically had to chase down the check. All in all it was a pretty expensive meal to walk away so disappointed kinda hungry.

I had been here before pizza and remember it being pretty good. This time when I went I got a salad that had chicken and shrimp. They were not that generous with the shrimp, only 4 pieces for a pretty big salad and it was cheap either. I expected more for the price. Also, we ordered beers and they were flat. When we said something, the waiter didn't really seem to care and just told us it was because they were on nitro. I've had beers on nitro before and they didn't taste flat. It would have been nice if we would have checked on it or offered us another beer. He also said, well, no one else has complained about it. I guess he just didn't want to deal with it. I might go back, but I'd just stick to ordering pizza.

NOT WORTH A PENNY!!! Not even worth the star that I am forced to rate. Most racist place I've ever been to. Come on, I realize it's a small town. But really? It's 2015!!! My family and I went there. My 2 little girls age 6&3 along with my sister and her husband. The place was NOT busy. They sat us within 5 mins in the center of the restaurant. Never gave us menu or drinks. About 4 other party came in after us. 20 mins later, no one has even taken our drink orders. The other parties already ordered their food. Really??? Half an hour later with no service, we just got up and left. The girl and another man standing by their door as hosts did not even try to ask us why we're leaving. They stood there and watched us not even get services. Overall the place is run down Crappy, dirty, stinks and very unprofessional! What kind of business is this? Get off your high horse.

Wife and I went early to dinner on a sunny Saturday had a really nice waitress who was happy to help us and place a order early for our 13 month daughter. We both had good meals I had meat lovers pizza good She had a chef salad with a side of small shrimp good The later it got the busier it got but she still kept checking on us. I did not have to ask for the bill and she took the payment within 5 minutes Good place for dinner

    1. The online menu and the window both said steak, but when we got there they had replaced the steak menu with pizza. 2. The menu font was so small I almost couldn't read it. 3. The chowder tasted so bland I didn't even want to finish it. 4. Our waitress was very inexperienced and inattentive. 5. But the fries were good.

Pro: no complaints on table service. Cons: Overpriced, poor quality, long wait We were the only patrons and our Chicken Strips appetizer took ~25 min. The fries were burnt to dark brown/black with ONE lonely chicken strip ($8?!). Ordered a salad with bleu cheese dressing. No chunks of cheese just an odd tasting ranch on a small plate of salad. Clam chowder tasted off. 5 people at our table tried it and only 2 thought it was good. The pizza had good toppings but the menu said it included shrimp in addition to the chicken and jalapenos, etc but we didnt get shrimp. It took over 30 min and the worst part was the crust. 110% sure it was frozen and not thawed properly. It was dry, chalky, colder than the toppings, no flavor, no crunch. Utterly abyssmal for a $25 pizza. Tourists beware: The Beach Bite is awful.

Worst meal I've had on coast. Next to the deli in canon beach which charged me $9 for a turkey bagel sandwich 50 cents extra for tomato. Wait was awful, one waiter working and I think he was the chef too. Tasteless fried food ! Decor motel 6 style, not anywhere near a Howard Johnson's. 60 min to get meal.

Waited a half an hour and walked out with out being acknowledged and the restaurant was only half full. Very nice inside, seemed nice, but can't give an opinion on the food as I never got to even order. Also frustrated.....walked down the street looking for somewhere else to eat. We were approached by a nice man who asked if we were looking for food and said he owned the Beach Bite and the next 2 places. I told him what just happened at his pride and joy....was cut off and asked if we were in town for the fourth and that he will be serving breakfast in the morning and to stop by??? I guess I should have been hot headed out yelling to get attention? O well, very disappointed.

Wife had halibut fish and chips, she liked it, but clearly frozen fish. Daughter had pepperoni pizza and liked it. I had seafood pasta, and was disappointed, sauce was watery , and not very flavorful. But my wife and daughter liked it. But they didn't love it, bill was $80 after we added two drinks to the bill.

When we came here it was after the lunch hour but the place wasn't terribly crowded. Mostly people in to watch the football games. We got seated in a booth in the middle rather promptly but it took way too long for anyone to acknowledge we were there. Seems that they were talking in the back about whom was supposed to take our table. 10+ minutes and no waters...drink orders...nothing....service was slipping and we had to flag someone down. Servers themselves are friendly enough. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a side salad. Simple. Overall tasted alright but then again I didn't order anything over the top. Prices were fare but it seemed like most of the food was so-so. Likely previously frozen. Came back the next night just for a drink which boosted this place an extra star. Bartender was nice and we basically closed the place down but they were not pushy. Wanted a whisky & ginger...which they noted they didn't have ginger but could do sprite+bitters. I was hesitant but assured by the bartender it tasted alike. Actually...it tasted great. No real bad experiences here. Food service is slow and would probably recommend other places in the area to eat. Bar is small but pretty decent to chill and watch sports. There's also an "attached" larger bar on the other side of building. All same owners of The Bite and the Pizza joint. Average at best. Their bar areas are their saving grace. Nothing wrong with those. Some good beers on tap.

I should have consulted Yelp reviews before I dropped a bunch of money on a crappy lunch. :( My dad, baby and I went here for a quick bite a couple weeks ago and the food was terrible (and I'm not a picky eater, I like most foods). We had some kind of fish sandwich, chicken strips and shrimp skewers. I wouldn't recommend any of the 3. Spent over $40 and was still hungry. Disappointed because I like the location and interiors.

Yum!

I would give it a ZERO STAR if I could. Dishes and silverware were dirty and pizza crust was worse than a frozen pizza. Their chowder that they claim to be the best on the north coast had under cooked potatoes and lacked any clam flavor! Just plain disgusting.

If you like beer, 20 or so, plus the glasses were so cold they had ice on them. Delicious! We had burgers - fab. I can't wait to go back!

Slow service. Terrible food. Wasted time. Only place open on a Tuesday. Day old tuna fish sandwiches would have been better.

After we checked into hotel we went searching for something to eat. Stumbled into this little Gem. Had the fish and chips loads of chips very good food. Give them a try. The staff was very very friendly. But a little expensive.

  • Paul W.

Not cool.

$12 for a Tanqueray martini? Are we in New York or Las Vegas?

Do not bother. Waited 1/2 hour and no water and barely a greeting from the waitress. Ended up leaving before we ate.

Not cool.

It doesn't take a lot to wear a fake smile and pretend you love your job, nor does it take a half hour to cook a cheeseburger or sandwich.

on one spontaneous wednesday trip to the beach, we happened upon the Beach Bite. twas the earliest open bar we could find on the sea front. ambiance was cozy with a great set-up between bar and dinning room. the menu is predictably pricey like most coastal touristy stops, but surprisingly plump with options. service was attentive and very friendly, which helped pacify damn pricey shots of mid shelf bourbon. after a glorious walk down the beach, we asked a local shop keep where the best chowder was in town. she snarked to try a canned brand! after laughter subsided, she told us to try either Whale Spout or Beach Bite.
